Brenthurst Foundation members visited INCAE Business School

brenthurstLast November 15th a number of entrepreneurs, experts, and dignitaries from different countries interested in Africa visited INCAE's Campus Walter Kissling Gam in Alajuela to attend the Brenthurst Foundation board meeting. Brenthurst is a South African foundation devoted to promoting better public policy in that continent.

Attendees included former presidents Kgalema Mothlante (South Africa) and Olusegun Obasanjo (Nigeria), as well as Jonathan Oppenheimer (South Africa), Barry Desker (Singapore) and Jeff Herbst (USA), among others. In addition to the board meeting an event was held to allow the INCAE community to meet them.

strategic management society conferenceINCAE Business School will be one of the official sponsors of the Strategic Management Society (SMS) conference, to be held for the first time in Central America on December 14 at Campus Walter Kissling Gam in Costa Rica, and on December 15 and 16 at the Real Intercontinental Hotel in San José.

Two INCAE faculty members, Dr. Esteban R. Brenes and Dr. Octavio Martínez, will serve as co-chairs for the conference. The third co-chair is Dr. Jay Anand from the Ohio State University Fisher School of Business. The event aims to bring together academics and faculty members from top business schools around the world to discuss, learn, and share about management research topics stressing collaborative strategies, new thinking on strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions.

The conference is supported by INCAE's Steve Aronson Chair of Strategy and is expected to be attended by 230 people
